session 2...copyright law...
copyright law...is confusing...where is my lawyer?...
...oh wait, i can't afford one... ...maybe i shouldn't do this podcasting thing...
...evidently, i could write about twenty pages on copyright law...it was much simpler as a clear-cut member of the media (when i was in the J School at UNC)...whew!...
...there seems to be a lot to summarize here, so i'm going to take a stab at it in several parts...
...my next entry (part 1), will be a summary of copyright terms, the second will be a summary of good informational links, and the third will hopefully be an assessment of what constitues electronic reproduction...and in summary, maybe i'll finally be able to sort out why it is that podcasts fall under the electronic reproduction laws, and not broadcast laws...i guess it's obvious (you don't actually download a file with a broadcast or a stream), but it seems pretty lame to me...
...somewhere else in there,i'll probably also toss in some links to political groups and politicians...
btw...this was definately the best session i attended... ...of course, some of the open sessions might have been really good, but i got distracted by the UNC v. State game...(oops)... ;o)
